Alloy Steel Seamless Pipes

Alloy steel seamless pipes with chromium and molybdenum for strength and creep resistance at elevated temperatures. Common in power generation and refinery heaters.

Alloy steel seamless pipe contains chromium and molybdenum to keep strength and creep resistance at high temperature. ASTM A335 covers chrome moly pipe grades such as P11, P22 and P91, which are widely used for main steam lines, superheaters, reheaters and refinery heater tubes.

Protek Pipes supplies alloy steel seamless pipes in normalised and tempered condition with the documentation required for power and refinery work. Tell us the design temperature and pressure and we will help match the right P grade and schedule.

FAQ

Alloy Steel Seamless Pipes FAQs

Cannot find your answer? Our team will help with grade, size and standard selection.

Ask us
Which A335 grade is used for high temperature steam lines?

P11 and P22 are common for steam up to moderate temperatures, while P91 is chosen for higher temperature and pressure because it allows thinner walls. The right grade depends on your design code and operating conditions.

What heat treatment applies to A335 pipe?

Alloy pipe is normally supplied normalised and tempered, with the exact treatment depending on the grade. Details are shown in the mill test certificate.

Is third party inspection available?

Yes. Third party inspection and additional testing can be arranged on request.
