Boiler and heat exchanger tubes are seamless tubes made to tight tolerances for efficient heat transfer under pressure. ASTM A192 is used for high pressure boiler tubes, ASTM A179 for cold drawn heat exchanger and condenser tubes, and ASTM A213 for alloy and stainless tubes in boilers, superheaters and heat exchangers.

What is the difference between A192 and A179 tubes?

A192 is a seamless carbon steel tube for high pressure boilers. A179 is a cold drawn low carbon tube used in heat exchangers and condensers where tight tolerances matter.
