Mechanical & Structural Tubes

Seamless mechanical tubing for machined components, hydraulic cylinders, bearings and structural applications where strength and concentricity matter.

Mechanical tubes are seamless tubes made for machining and engineering rather than fluid pressure. ASTM A519 covers carbon and alloy mechanical tubing, and EN 10297 covers seamless circular tubes for mechanical and general engineering use. They give consistent wall thickness and concentricity, which reduces waste when parts are turned or bored.

Protek Pipes supplies hot finished and cold drawn mechanical tubes for hydraulic cylinders, bearings, shafts, bushings, rollers and structural parts. Send your outside diameter, wall thickness and condition and we will confirm what can be supplied.

FAQ

Mechanical & Structural Tubes FAQs

Cannot find your answer? Our team will help with grade, size and standard selection.

Ask us
What is the difference between a mechanical tube and a pipe?

Pipes are sized by nominal bore and schedule for carrying fluids, while mechanical tubes are sized by outside diameter and wall thickness for machining and structural use.

Do you supply honed tubes for hydraulic cylinders?

Honed and skived tubing can be sourced on request. Send us the bore size, tolerance and length.

Which conditions are available?

Hot finished, cold drawn, normalised and stress relieved conditions can be discussed based on your application.
